Technical Support - Basic FTP Using Windows XP
Initial Account Setup
Windows XP does have limited FTP support built in. Because of the variations in browsers, and security settings making it more complicated, we're going to use the Network Places wizard. It's not the only way.
You need to fill in the details for your FTP account, so make sure you have these to hand. These will have been sent by email - if you don't have FTP details, please email and I will set up your account.
You will have:
FTP Server: ftp://photoshopservices.dyndns.org
Username: USERNAME
Password: PASSWORD
Directory: /YourDirectory
First, open Windows Explorer or My Computer. Go to Tools menu and choose Map Network Drive.

Click 'Sign up for online storage or connect to a network server' as shown below.

Follow the wizard instructions...

Type ftp://photoshopservices.dyndns.org as shown.

Untick the 'log on anonymously' and enter the username provided in your email.

Give the server a name, such as Photoshop Services FTP.

And finally hit Finish to connect.

It will ask for your password, so enter the Password provided in your email and tick Save Password so you don't have to remember it next time.

Transferring Files
You are now viewing the FTP server. Double click on your folder to access your space.

To upload and download files to and from the FTP server by dragging and dropping them as if they were files on your computer. You can also rename, create folders, delete, and so forth.

To disconnect, just close the window.
Next time you come back to the FTP server, it will remember your server settings. Depending on your window setup, you should find the server listed in the sidebar or folder bar.
